A Recognition Program for Animal-Related Businesses Committed to Ethical Standards, Education, and Responsible Care

The IAHAP Approved Ethical Animal Care Business program is designed for animal-related businesses that want to demonstrate a clear commitment to humane care, ethical standards, professional responsibility, and continued education. This recognition helps businesses show clients, the public, and the broader animal-care community that they operate with integrity, compassion, and accountability.

Through this program, eligible businesses may apply to be reviewed by the International Association of Holistic Animal Practitioners and, if approved, earn recognition as an IAHAP Approved Ethical Animal Care Business. Approval is based on education, ethical standards, business practices, review of operations, and the business’s demonstrated commitment to safe and responsible animal care.

Why Apply

Today’s clients want more than services — they want confidence that the businesses caring for their animals operate with professionalism, compassion, and ethical responsibility. This program offers businesses an opportunity to stand out as organizations that value education, humane care, transparency, and high standards.

Businesses approved through this program may receive recognition that helps build public trust, strengthen brand credibility, and demonstrate alignment with ethical animal-care values. It also provides a meaningful framework for staff development, professional accountability, and long-term excellence.

Who May Apply

The program is open to a wide range of animal-related businesses, including but not limited to:

  • Veterinary offices

  • Grooming businesses

  • Horse boarding facilities

  • Horse trail ride businesses

  • Daycare and boarding facilities

  • Other animal-related service providers

IAHAP understands that different business types operate in different ways. For that reason, the review process may be adapted to the nature of the business while still holding all applicants to core ethical and professional standards.

What this recognition means

Being recognized as an IAHAP Approved Ethical Animal Care Business means that a business has completed the required application and review process and has demonstrated alignment with IAHAP’s standards for ethics, humane treatment, responsible communication, appropriate education, and professional conduct.

This recognition is intended to reflect a commitment to ethical operation and continual improvement. It is not merely a paid listing or promotional title. It is an approval process based on standards, review, and accountability.
